Girls divisions are under the following grade-based divisions: ; Grades 7th and 8th – G78; Grades 5th and 6th – G56; Grades 3rd and 4th - G34; Grades 1st and 2nd – G12; and Kindergarten – GK. Our younger teams will play in our House League and our older teams will play in the NVYLL.  Our House League begins in mid-April and runs through early June with games on Sunday, usually the same time, same place every week.

Most of our girls age divisions are further divided into levels of play. Teams are divided into A (top level), B, and C levels at the G78 and G56 division. For the G34 division, we enter teams in both our house league and the NVYLL (which is divided into A and B levels for G34). G12 teams play at the same level in our House League and our GKs will participate in our Scoopers clinic to introduce them to the game of lacrosse.

Playing Field
Some of our older teams will play their games on full fields while others will play on modified fields per the new US Lacrosse's Guidelines.

Modified field (MF) is approximately a minimum of 60 yards long and 35 yards wide with a painted end line and mid-field line. Fields may be set up to run across 1⁄2 of an existing NFHS full size regulation field. Creases will be designated 5 yards from each baseline. Teams will be limited to eight (8) players on the field at a time (i.e. 8 vs. 8). The 8 players will be 2 attack, 3 midfielders, 2 defensemen, and a goalie. To remain on-sides, a team must have a total of three (3) players on the defensive end and two (2) players on the offensive end of the field. Teams have the option to play with a goalie or without one, but may not use a shooting barrier in place of a goalie.

Rosters
Roster size for G78 and G56 divisions run from a maximum of 24 to a minimum of 16 players. G34 and G12 MF girls’ team sizes are anywhere from 12 to 18 players.

Tryouts, Assessments and Practices
Annual tryouts and evaluation for teams will be held before the season to allow an equal opportunity to participate. Tryouts for A level will be conducted in late January/early February.  Assessments of all other players will be done mid February to draft within B and C levels to build teams of equal ability.

Girls practices will be twice a week, usually between 5:30pm-8pm, with the Girls’ games scheduled in Sunday time slots. NVYLL games start late March and run through the weekend before Memorial Day. House league games start in April (depending on Easter) and run until early June. No games Easter weekend or Memorial Day weekend.

Rules
The girls will play under the US Lacrosse Women’s Rule Book and the US Lacrosse Youth Girls’ rules govern NVYLL girls’ youth play, except as amended by the league.
