The DC, Virginia, and Maryland area have a number of travel field hockey clubs.  Travel clubs are more expensive than recreational clubs, but they should offer more experienced coaches, additional practice times, and opportunities to play more competitive teams in and outside our area.  Many AFH players also play on club teams, and we encourage players to ask and learn about the different options available. You can learn more by going to these clubs' websites or reaching out to their director, or (as always) you can ask AFH at

HAMMERS - Hammers Field Hockey was formerly called "Rapids" and was the travel arm of Potomac Field Hockey.  Their newly named club is located in Loudon County.

HUSEL - HUSEL Field Hockey Club (HHC) is a premier field hockey club in Northern Virginia serving Fairfax County, Arlington County, and Prince William County. Our hand-selected coaching staff includes former U.S. National Team and College players to provide specific technical and tactical development to elevate individual and team instruction. KOA - Koa Field hockey offers every level of field hockey, the Koa club team is their most elite field hockey program at Koa Sports.  Their Club team is for those players who are looking to commit to field hockey year - round. Koa trains in Bethesda and Germantown


METRO - Metro HC is dedicated to elite field hockey in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. They train in Leesburg and Sterling, VA


MUSTANGS (Recently partnered with Southeast Storm) - Mustangs Field Hockey Club is a youth club for athletes of all skill levels. Players are challenged and encouraged. The club was founded in 2019 to introduce young athletes to field hockey.

This Winter the club has both an indoor option (Mondays and Wednesdays @ Dulles SportsPlex) and an outdoor option (Sundays @ George Mason).  We are open to girls, boys and adults.  Adults and boys over 15 train separately from the girls for safety.

NEXT LEVELNext Level Field Hockey offers year round playing opportunities including clinics, summer camps and travel teams. They are located in Bethesday, MD.  Next Level has an indoor turf field which allows players to work on their outdoor field hockey skills year round. Coaches are all top Division I players who love the game and are focused on providing our players with a fun learning environment to further develop their individual and game skills

Team PP Starz Field Hockey - PP Starz is one of the newer clubs in the are based in Tysons, VA. They are a field hockey club for U10-U14 athletes. Team PP Starz is a year-round program providing young athletes in the Northern Virginia area the opportunity to take their field hockey game to the next level.


RAMPAGE - This club is the longest-standing club in northern Virginia, having sent hundreds of athletes to the next level to play in college.  They just wrapped up their fall training and are moving into indoor season (for U16 and U19 only due to pandemic). Tryouts are set for 11/15 at Chantilly Field House.  More information can be found at
