FALL 2021 SEASON
That's a wrap.
What a fantastic fall season of field hockey. No bad weather or rain-outs. We had so many new players and were happy to welcome back returning players. It all came to a conclusion on Halloween with the 7th/8th grade champions - Team 3.
Yes, that's the name they chose. Team 3
In addition to the Championship Game, some brave parents decided to give our sport a try and take on their kids in a friendly match. Way to go, mom and dad's!
September 6, 2021 - Happy Labor Day!
AFH has been very busy. Last Monday we had our first official practices. Three age group (3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th) 6 teams in every age group, over 200 kids! How do we manage? The Varsity Yorktown Field Hockey team put on their capes and saved the day. Arlington's top players came out to introduce field hockey to your young, future stars and help run the practice.
In the meantime, we got uniforms, made team rosters, and had a fun day of playing hockey with the
Bishop O'Connell Field Hockey team!
Thank you, Yorktown Field Hockey and Bishop O'Connell Field Hockey!
We will see you on the field.
Long Bridge, Field 1
5P - 6P: 3rd+4th grade teams
6P - 7P: 5th+6th grade teams
7P - 8P: 7th+8th grade teams
All teams practice on the same day at the same place - Mondays at Long Bridge Park
3rd+4th grade team rosters will go out next week.
5th+6th grade teams and 7th+8th grade teams rosters will be made after our first practice/assessment.
Monday, August 30th at Long Bridge.
FALL 2021 REGISTRATION
Without more coaches we are unable to open registration to new players.
If you would like to register for fall field hockey, please put your name down on our waitlist at this link.
This will collect your information, and we will send you a separate link for registration if we have open spots or get more coaches.
If you are able to coach, please reach out to Megan Sullivan at firstname.lastname@example.org. More coaches allows us to create more teams.
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
Arlington Field Hockey players, our Early Bird Registration is now open to all returning players. You should have received an email with the registration link.
REGULAR REGISTRATION WILL OPEN JUNE 6TH, LOOK HERE FOR THE LINK TO REGISTER.
AFH is always looking for coaches. If you are interested, please email Megan Sullivan at email@example.com
Coaches get free registration for their players!
Some parents have asked about registering their child when they are not sure about schedules or committing to AFH, when their child may be playing high school field hockey. We recommend registering, and paying in installments. You will be required to pay a minimum $6 fee, but nothing more until July 31.
This is a good option if you're unsure about the schedule, but don't want to lose a spot.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions.
See you on the field!
AFH 8th graders,
you can tryout for your high school JV team, each high school goes through the process differently so reach out to your HS coach, and go for it! You must be here in August for tryouts, so plan vacations accordingly.
ARLINGTON FIELD HOCKEY
Who is jealous of this team's attire? I am! Don't let the cute bows and socks fool you, these "Murder Hornets" came to play!
There are a lot of great things about field hockey. Fantastic socks are definitely one of them.
In the meantime, we've been busy. AFH is filling their YouTube channel with videos to educate and entertain you about field hockey. Go check it out and subscribe. You will be able to watch videos on the basics or the on the amazing!
