The Arlington Youth Lacrosse Club (AYLC) is a parent sponsored and administered club run for the purpose of helping boys and girls learn the sport of lacrosse in a positive environment emphasizing the development of teamwork, good sportsmanship and athlet
There are four (4) high school lacrosse programs in Arlington that many of our players will eventually play for; Bishop O'Connell, Washington - Liberty, Wakefield, and Yorktown. The mission of Arlington Youth Lacrosse Club (AYLC) is to prepare our players so they can compete at the next level. We work with those coaches to ensure we are teaching the correct concepts so that our players can comfortably contribute to those programs.
If your child is a public school student in Arlington County, Arlington Co Public Shools (APS) allows 8th graders to try out for thier respective JV team. All coaches are in full support of this collaborative effort. It's also worth noting that AYLC is still an excellent opportunity should JV not be the right fit for them or they wish more playing time in games.
Tryouts for JV begin mid-February (usually President's Day), however, dates / times vary by specific program.
Lastly, we strongly recommend that our players go watch the high school games live during the spring as it's a fun way to see how games are played at the next level.
