Fall 2023 Scoopers Program Kicks-Off on Oct. 8th

 

AYLC is excited to open registration for our Fall 2023 Scoopers Program. Scoopers will be led by Madi Carzon, JV Girls Head Coach at Yorktown High School along with Amy Sutton, former JV Girls Head Coach at Yorktown High School and Evan Rodger, Varsity Boys Head Coach at W-L High School. 

Scoopers is a fun, co-ed, station-based program to teach fundamental lacrosse skills common for both the boy's and girl's games. AYLC follows the USA Lacrosse Athlete Development Model to teach the right skills, the right way, at the appropriate stage of the athlete's physical development. The only required equipment for this program is a lacrosse stick and water bottle.

The five (5) Scoopers sessions will be held on Sundays at Bluemont Field #2 from 1:30 - 2:30pm on the following dates:

 

10/8  1:30 pm to 2:30 pm

10/15 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm

10/22 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm

10/29 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm

11/5 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm

11/12 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm - make-up/rain date

FUNDRAISER: MULCH Sale (Orders DUE Oct. 13)

 

Yorktown Boys Lacrosse Program is holding thier semi-annual FUNDRAISER for bagged mulch delivered to your home by YHS student athletes on Saturday October 21.

Three (3) cubic foot bags of mulch for $6.50 each, the price of which includes DELIVERY on Oct. 21 by players and parents. There is a twelve (12) bag minimum order please, due to delivery/time constraints. NOTE: We will do special orders and orders of less than 12 bags for pick up at school, please reply to this email to discuss arrangements.

Lacrosse Night with the Capitals, Nov. 18

This year the Washington Capitals will hold the first annual Lacrosse Night in effort to combine the two incredible sports of hockey and lacrosse. The game will be November 18th @ 7pm against the Columbus Blue Jackets!

CLINIC: Marymount Univ. (Boys) Begins Sept. 26

 
AYLC is excited to continue our great partnership with the Marymount University Men's Lacrosse program. They are running a (5) five-week boys youth clinic series this fall designed for boys 1st - 8th grade of all skill levels.
 
Players will work on stick skills, positional play, team concepts as well as small sided and full field scrimmaging. Players will work with current college coaches and athletes and have the opportunity to put the skills they learn to the test during scrimmages.  This clinic will run on TUESDAY EVENINGS at Marymount University (Main Campus)Cost is $120 per player.
 
Schedule is as follows:
10/3- 6-7:30pm
10/10- 6-7:30pm
10/17- 6-7:30pm
10/24- 6-7:30pm 
11/7- 6-7:30pm (possible rain date)

CLINIC: Marymount Univ. (Girls) Begins Sept. 13

 

     Arlington Youth Lacrosse Club (AYLC) is excited to kick off our fall programming and continue our partnership with the Marymount University Womens Lacrosse Program.  We will again hold our fall girls clinic series at Marymount University.  This youth clinic series is designed for players of all levels.

 

     Players will work on stick skills, positional play, team concepts as well as small sided and full field scrimmaging. Players will be coached by current college athletes and the MU Coaching Staff and will have the opportunity to put the skills they learn to the test during scrimmages. 

 

     This clinic will run on Wednesday evenings from September 13 through October 18, (with October 25, 2023 as a rain date). The first half of each day will be dedicated to skills and drills, and the second half will be small sided games to practice and reinforce those skills.  

 

Cost is $120 per player. The schedule is as follows:

 

1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade will run from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm

5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will run from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
